Exercises for Rebel Artists: Pages 10-19


  1. Aims and motivations of a Pocha Nostra performance workshop
    1. To help develop and strengthen performers
    2. To create communities for rebel artists of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, genders, and nationalities
    3. To develop new models for relationships between artists and communities, mentor and apprentice, which are neither colonial nor condescending
    4. To discover new ways of relating our bodies
    5. To raise crucial questions
    6. To empower participants as individuals
  2. Identifying and Preparing the space
    1. Space
      1.  It is determined by the number of participants.
      2. Make sure there is enough space that artists don't feel crowded or constantly run into others
    2. Lighting
      1. It is one of the most crucial parts. 
      2. Make sure the light is equal to the amount of participants and the amount of space
    3. Sound
      1. Space needs a good quality sound system
    4. Costume
      1. It is important to make a list of every prop and/or costume needed in advance
      2. Do not rush or stress about costume. (It shouldn't be another worry to add to your list)
